“Overwhelmed doesn’t quite capture it. “
That’s all I remember saying in the whirlwind that was the launch party for my first book, a memoir, “Squats and Margaritas – a journey to finding balance.“
Looking out at my mom, my sister, my husband and children interspersed with faces that I hadn’t set eyes upon in decades-faces who were a part of this journey to balance. . .it was surreal. In what alternate universe am I an author addressing the crowd of people who came to purchase my memoir? What is even happening right now?
From coworkers I've known for 15 years to friends made this past month-everyone came out to support and it meant more than I can even describe.
While I set out to write a book to help moms finding themselves again after having children, another story revealed itself- mine. After 20 years of struggling with body image, eating disorders and insecurity, I found the formula that changed my life and am ecstatic to be able to share it with everyone. It is so gratifying to hear from the women who trusted my formula and have changed their bodies (and their lives!).
I finally found true happiness and released myself from the sturdy grasps of decades of struggle. We capped off the evening with a $500 donation to Project HEAL- an amount that will fund treatment for those still in it.
