In 2020, aside from being more present, I'm resolving to listen to my body. After a week of heavy lifting, that's not what my body required today. It needed some balance.
With the chaos of the holidays and my book release, my body needed to relax. With the temperature of the room reaching 95 degrees, my muscles stretched like they haven't in decades. I was present, calm, and so relaxed that I would've laid in savasana for an hour, if the instructor would've allowed it.
I don't typically do yoga, but it was just what my body needed today. It was unfamiliar, but the instructor reminded me,"let yourself be new. When we try something unfamiliar, we can find strength that has been latent until now."
How will you test yourself and move towards the unfamiliar in 2020?
